Duo Carulli – Flute and Guitar
Lorenzo Gavanna and Laura Arcari are both graduates of the Scuola Civica “Claudio Abbado” in Milan, Italy.
From an early stage in their career, the duo performed at prestigious Italian festivals, such as the Step Art Fair: “International Music Festival”, Monza Music Week, Notti Trasfigurate, “Le mani sapienti”, Expoincittà, “In attesa di Expo 2015” (waiting for Expo 2015), “Nella Luce” at the “Broletto di Pavia”, Il Museo Che Suona at the Sforza Castle in Milan and the international music festival “Ghiffa in Musica”. Added to the latter mentioned, and accredited to their name, Gavanna-Arcari duo has been invited to perform for the most respected Italian cultural associations such as the Associazione “Le Voci della Città”, Fondazione Antonio Carlo Monzino, Scuola Civica “Claudio Abbado”, Associazione Controcanto VCO, and the Accademia Villa Bernocchi.
Internationally, the duo was awarded with the 3rd prize at the “Concorso Nazionale di Esecuzione Musicale città Piove di Sacco”, and as a result, was invited to perform at many prestigious concert halls. Amongst other concert halls includes the Sala Verdi in Milan, Teatro dal Verme, Auditorium Lattuada, Sala Merlata (Castello Sforzesco in Milan), and the Teatro san Pio-Uboldo (VA).
Their repertoire ranges from pre-baroque music to the nineteenth century compositions originally written for Flute and Guitar, and also extends into the twentieth century and contemporary works.
In 2015, the duo performed the Italian premiere of “In Search of Folly” by the English composer S. Dodgson (1924-2013).
